The following 90 UK Vizslas robustly satisfy the phenotypic criteria required by the current research. This project aims to develop a DNA screening test for the disease known as Vizsla Inflammatory Polymyopathy – VIP
The owners of these VIP affected vizslas are generously committed to transparency in the hope that many more DNA samples (via saliva or blood) might be generated. Please email Di Addicott directly or ring 01759 306057 if you are able to provide contact information for cooperative owners of the sires, dams, offspring or siblings of the 90 individuals listed below (click on each name to see a full pedigree)
More samples are needed for the research to proceed. It is the only way that we can hope to develop a DNA test and thus rid our gene pool of the scourge of this distressing disease.
Please help.

*Note1 -There is quite a number of further affected vizslas whose owners prefer not to participate in this project – confidentiality is always assured for those individuals who prefer it. There are also other “probably” affected vizslas for which we do not have *quite* sufficiently robust clinical evidence to confirm phenotypicality. Please also know that there is excellent reason to be certain that the vizslas identified in the open registry are but the tip of the iceberg.
